Stay Warm in Barnet launches

27 Feb 2026

Barnet has been announced as the latest location to benefit from the Cadent Foundation and Groundwork’s ‘Stay Warm in’ initiative.

Like in Blackpool, Wellingborough, Leigh and Willenhall in Coventry, the Stay Warm in Barnet project will see Green Doctors – Groundwork’s trained energy advisers – embedded into the local community.

Support for residents from the new project will be available across Barnet at a variety of community venues and via household visits. Stay Warm in Barnet will help increase access to individualised support, including energy advice, energy saving measures for the home and personal warmth items.

The initiative will see the expansion of the established Barnet Health Champion programme, where newly enrolled Champions will receive training in identifying fuel poverty and basic behaviour change advice, to enable them to share this learning with their networks and communities, both in person and digitally.

This intervention will ensure Stay Warm in Barnet reaches households most impacted by fuel poverty.

The project forms part of a £340,000 fund from Cadent Foundation, which is expected to reach 9,400 people living in vulnerable situations.
