We are the UK’s largest gas distribution network, bringing gas to 11 million homes and businesses. We manage a network of more than 82,000 miles of pipes, most of them underground, which transport gas throughout the North West, West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England and North London.
A lane of Ridgeway Road in Gleadless, Sheffield has been closed following a gas escape on the network.
Ageing gas pipes that run underneath parts of Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, are due to be replaced by engineers from Cadent.
A public event will take place beforehand for residents and businesses to learn more.
Work starts on Monday 21 September and is expected to last four weeks, until Monday 12 October
