Works to replace 700 metres of gas pipes in Scothern, Lincolnshire, which are essential to keeping homes in the area warm, began on 12th October and will last for approximately 8 weeks.
In order to carry out the works, and to minimise disruption, Cadent has agreed the following traffic management conditions with the local authority:
A road closure will be in place on Claypool Lane, with residents maintaining access via Sudbrooke Road.
Work will begin at the junction of Main Street and Claypool Lane. Following the initial set-up, two-way temporary traffic signals will be installed on Main Street while the Claypool Lane closure remains in place.
There may also be a requirement for temporary traffic signals on Sudbrooke Road during this phase of the project.
A road closure will be in place on Nettleham Road between Dunholme Road and OS Taravie.
Traffic management will be removed to accommodate Remembrance Sunday before works continue.
A road closure will be in place on Church Street between Nettleham Road and Sudbrooke Road whilst Cadent engineers complete the final stage of the project.
Richard Sansom, Network Director for Cadent in the East Midlands, said: “These works are essential in order to keep the gas flowing to the people of Lincolnshire for generations to come.
I understand that these works will cause inconvenience and frustration to residents and road users; this is understandable. However, we are doing all that we can to minimise disruption as we carry out these vital works and will continue to engage with the local community. I would urge everybody to allow for additional time in their journeys, and I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we seek to carry out the works as swiftly, but as safely as possible.
